We are in a vast house with complete responsibility of maintaining the house. We hold the keys that make the whole house accessible for us. But then, all of a sudden, we hand the keys over and the house goes pitch black. Light is cut off from us. Darkness ensues. We are completely blind. No sense of direction. Utterly confused of which way to go. Stumbling our way around in what seems to be unorganized chaos. Kicking objects unseen to our eyes. Bumping into one another, inflicting pain among ourselves.
At the opposite side of the house, far away from us, way off in the distance, is a substantial hatch-like opening, concealing a limitless source of Light that once lit the whole house. There is a problem; due to us handing the keys over to Darkness, that hatch is now sealed shut, almost as if it were welded shut by Darkness himself. Darkness engulfs us. Light is currently inaccessible and unreachable. We are suffocating by this gloomy darkness that overcame us by our own mistake.
Then, all of a sudden, the Door breaks off its weld by a gust of breathe-like wind so robust that nothing can go against it.Thus, revealing the concealed, unconquerable Light the dwells within. Its shining so brightly. Penetrating into the darkness. Generating piercing light-beams that heed our eyes to this source of Light. For some reason, this Light provokes confusion. Some gaze in reverence to this Light, but some choose to glance and quickly draw back into hiding from the Light in their comfortable, self-presumed home called Darkness.
This Light, fighting its way through the rebellious dust particles, continues its expedition to penetrate the darkness. The further away we are from the source of Light, the smaller it gets. This is not because the Light has lost its’ luminance; it is because more darkness surrounds the Light. Conversely to that, the Light increases as we draw nearer to its origin. Brighter it becomes; Darkness begins diminishing around us simply due to our proximity to the Author of this Light.
“Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.” -James 4:8 NASB
